Hey revolutionaries,

Robin here (Roger’s sidekick).

Since launching this website and newsletter for Roger, we’ve achieved some amazing things — around 5,000 subscribers (that’s you, hi!) and roughly £2,600 a month in regular donations. That’s enough for Roger to live on and to help support an assistant. It’s incredible, and we’re deeply grateful.

At the same time, about one in five subscribers have dropped off the newsletter since it began — most often because of simple email overload. So I wanted to briefly explain a change we’re making, and how you can choose what you receive from us.

Over the past year, our writing and organising have grown fast. We’ve hosted two online conventions with Rev21, released three books, and continued Roger’s regular output of essays, analysis, podcasts, transcripts, and urgent calls to action.

For some of you, that’s exactly what you signed up for. For others — especially newer subscribers — it may simply be too much.

Rather than guessing, we’re changing the structure so you’re in control.

From now on, we’ll be sending three types of emails:

1. Essays & Analysis (1–2 times a week)
Long-form writing, political analysis, transcripts, and reflections on climate breakdown, democracy, and nonviolent resistance.

2. Monthly Digest (once a month)
A calmer, low-frequency summary: our best writing, key updates, and what’s coming next. This is the best option if you want to stay connected without regular emails.

3. Actions & Urgent Calls (occasional)
Time-sensitive fundraisers, assemblies, events, and moments where action really matters.

You can subscribe to one, two, all three — or just the monthly digest.

How to manage your settings

You can update your preferences at any time here.

If our emails aren’t right for you anymore, you can also unsubscribe completely — no hard feelings at all. We’re grateful you’ve been part of this community for however long you’ve walked with us.

On the other hand, if your loving all this work, please consider becoming a regular donor. You'll get books and our eternal gratitude!

Our aim with this change is simple: less overwhelm, more choice, and clearer communication, while still being honest about the scale of the crisis we’re in.

Thank you for being here.

With love and rage,
Robin
