Roger's book, 50 Articles The Media Wouldn’t Publish, brings together six years of blog posts, prison notebooks and essays from the founding of XR to the last year in prison. This new edition also includes Roger’s seminal prison essay, “Why the Human Race Is Going Extinct This Century” — essential reading for anyone who refuses to look away.

Already, rebels around the world have picked up 150 copies, with every purchase helping spread Roger’s work.

Upcoming Public Talks

Prison may have been billed as punishment, but Roger treated it like an extended reading and writing break. Many more books are in the making! Now out, he’s straight back to public speaking — with three events this September in London where you can catch up with him and hear more on prison and the big questions of collapse, morality, and the future of civilisation.

1. On Being, In Prison – London, Sunday 7th September

Roger will share what prison taught him about being. From brutal materialism (“it is what it is”), to postmodern denial (“you just can’t say”), to the mystery of God (“glory be”), this talk explores what it means to face collapse, rupture and terror — and still find the courage to re-make the world.

Expect hard-hitting honesty, small-group discussions, and a one-pot vegan supper together.

📍 Kairos, 84 Tottenham Court Road, London
🕔 Doors 5pm, Talk 5:30pm

2. Philosophy Salon – HowTheLightGetsIn Festival, Saturday 20th September

What happens when you lock up a radical for years? He comes out hungrier for conversation. Over a shared vegan supper, Roger will host an intimate philosophy salon at the world’s largest ideas festival, exploring civil resistance, collapse, and moral responsibility.

This is not a lecture — it’s a radical conversation about what it means to act in the face of ecological breakdown, and how collective courage might still shape the future.

📍 HowTheLightGetsIn, Academy venue
🕣 Saturday 20 Sept, 8:30pm
🎟️ Reserve your free place

3. A New Existentialism for a World in Crisis – HowTheLightGetsIn Festival, Sunday 21st September

In this talk, Roger will put forward a new existentialism for our times: how to face collapse with clear eyes, shed the comforting lies, and act with responsibility and courage in the face of mass death and ecological breakdown.

📍 HowTheLightGetsIn, Ring venue
🕐 Sunday 21 Sept, 1pm
🎟️ Reserve your free place

This is a special moment to hear from Roger in his own words. Let’s make sure his message travels far and wide.

Thank you.
