šŸ¦ Free as a Birdā€” Monthly Prison Talk

I am in prison and free as a birdā€”well, almost. Let's not get carried away. Free enough to host a monthly talk!

šŸ¦ Free as a Birdā€” Monthly Prison Talk

A real revolution brings together inner resilience with an outer commitment to social transformationā€”the inner and outer work are two sides of the same coin. They need each other. This is what Revolution in the 21st Century means if it is not only to replicate the same old stories.

So, my being in prison is not a moment to pause, feel down, or indulge in comforting self-pity. It is time to double down on the plan. We have a world to change; we must have the ultimate ambition or settle for no ambition. We must start tomorrow, work out the next week, and build from there. We need to work together in teamsā€”we are not alone; we exist for each other.

So, I will not be talking about the birds and the skies in this talk. I will discuss creating the new global movement and how we can concretely play a pivotal role in service to this movementā€”a support space, a training hub, a networking node to inspire, educate, build up the frontlines, and start new ones.

What we are going to do is what all successful organisations have done for hundreds of years. We will be organised. We now have a solid central team, which always gets you halfway to success, and we have some money. We are starting working groups for various projects. We will have regional groups worldwide, which will create more groups. They will have lists of things to do. We will have stages of development. We will hand out badges. The ribbon is being ordered per Napoleon's instructions - "A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of coloured ribbon.

Last but not least, we won't take it all too seriously. As I say, we don't want to get carried away. Death comes for us all. It brings us down to earth.

I would love for as many of the 3,000 of you on our list to come alongā€”this is a big moment to deepen our resilience in our work. It's time to get the job done: a revolutionary change in government, economy, and cultureā€”a new way of seeing.

Don't think for one moment that 3,000 people cannot change the world. But first, you have to show upā€”and bring a friend. It's an hour and a half of your life. Totally worth it. See you then.

Hi, Robin here. I'm Roger's right hand man and co-director of Revolution in the 21st Century (R21C). I'll be hosting the monthly zoom call with our small support team. We'd love your help. With collapse on its way, we need to prepare for a democratic and nonviolent revolution that will keep fascism at bay. To do that, we need revolutionaries.

R21C aims to educate, inspire, and connect people on this mission for revolution. We aim to grow a leadership training program that empowers and supports young, PoC, and rural leaders to spark nonviolent revolution across the Western world (and beyond!). To do this, we need your help managing a global community of revolutionaries.

Come along for a briefing on Sunday 8th Sept. at 5pm UK Time (12:00 Eastern Time, 6pm European Central Time). Robin will discuss the project in more detail, what we need, and how you can contribute.

This is an exciting chance to be part of a revolution to salvage our humanity in its darkest hour. Come along!

Don't have the hours to volunteer? Please donate to help us keep running (prison phone calls are costly!)

On that note, our fellow revolutionary, Chris Hedges, is coming to do a fundraiser for political prisoners in London! Chris is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Presbyterian minister, and journalist who was a foreign correspondent for The New York Times for fifteen years. He will visit Roger in prison and return to London to share his latest thinking.

Kairos will host his talk, The Cost of Resistance, on Wednesday, September 11th, at 6:30 p.m. You can sign up here.

Not in the UK? We will host a global livestream of the talk on Wednesday Sept 25th 7pm UK. You can sign up here.

As always, you can sign up for nonviolent civil resistance with Just Stop Oil in the UK or via the A22 Network internationally.
